Free verse

Here's another free verse poem that I just came up with:

Slowly, the ocean waves are approaching
Preparing to attack the cliff with such force
Despite the pain, the cliff always stands
Hoping that some day nature's course will change

It's quite childish. While writing it I just focused on adding a bit of personification. Other then that, I just can't believe that the Winter Break is officially over. I could've definitely used another week to relax.

While sitting in the dark
Light seems impossible to reach
It's but a distant memory
An abstract element
That cannot be seized

It engulfs one's sight
By distorting and creating
Imaginary objects
Which are viewed
As an approaching threat
